The Overthrowing
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
যখন সূর্য আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে,
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
যখন নক্ষত্র মলিন হয়ে যাবে,
And when the stars fall, dispersing,
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
যখন পর্বতমালা অপসারিত হবে,
And when the mountains are removed
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
যখন দশ মাসের গর্ভবতী উষ্ট্রীসমূহ উপেক্ষিত হবে;
And when full-term she-camels are neglected
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
যখন বন্য পশুরা একত্রিত হয়ে যাবে,
And when the wild beasts are gathered
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
যখন সমুদ্রকে উত্তাল করে তোলা হবে,
And when the seas are filled with flame
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
যখন আত্মাসমূহকে যুগল করা হবে,
And when the souls are paired
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
যখন জীবন্ত প্রোথিত কন্যাকে জিজ্ঞেস করা হবে,
And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked
بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍۢ قُتِلَتْ
কি অপরাধে তাকে হত্য করা হল?
For what sin she was killed
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
যখন আমলনামা খোলা হবে,
And when the pages are made public
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
যখন আকাশের আবরণ অপসারিত হবে,
And when the sky is stripped away
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
যখন জাহান্নামের অগ্নি প্রজ্বলিত করা হবে
And when Hellfire is set ablaze
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
এবং যখন জান্নাত সন্নিকটবর্তী হবে,
And when Paradise is brought near,
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
তখন প্রত্যেকেই জেনে নিবে সে কি উপস্থিত করেছে।
A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it].
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
আমি শপথ করি যেসব নক্ষত্রগুলো পশ্চাতে সরে যায়।
So I swear by the retreating stars -
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
চলমান হয় ও অদৃশ্য হয়,
Those that run [their courses] and disappear -
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
শপথ নিশাবসান ও
And by the night as it closes in
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
প্রভাত আগমন কালের,
And by the dawn when it breathes
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ
নিশ্চয় কোরআন সম্মানিত রসূলের আনীত বাণী,
[That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger
ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍۢ
যিনি শক্তিশালী, আরশের মালিকের নিকট মর্যাদাশালী,
[Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position],
مُّطَاعٍۢ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍۢ
সবার মান্যবর, সেখানকার বিশ্বাসভাজন।
Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy.
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍۢ
এবং তোমাদের সাথী পাগল নন।
And your companion is not [at all] mad.
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
তিনি সেই ফেরেশতাকে প্রকাশ্য দিগন্তে দেখেছেন।
And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon.
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍۢ
তিনি অদৃশ্য বিষয় বলতে কৃপনতা করেন না।
And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen.
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ رَّجِيمٍۢ
এটা বিতাড়িত শয়তানের উক্তি নয়।
And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens].
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
অতএব, তোমরা কোথায় যাচ্ছ?
So where are you going?
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
এটা তো কেবল বিশ্বাবাসীদের জন্যে উপদেশ,
It is not except a reminder to the worlds
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
তার জন্যে, যে তোমাদের মধ্যে সোজা চলতে চায়।
For whoever wills among you to take a right course.
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
তোমরা আল্লাহ রাব্বুল আলামীনের অভিপ্রায়ের বাইরে অন্য কিছুই ইচ্ছা করতে পার না।
And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds.
